Biogas is normally used
to describe the gas produced by the biological breakdown of organic
matter in the absence of oxygen. Biogas primarily consists of
methane and carbon dioxide and is often used today as a source of
energy. The commercial process involves the anaerobic digestion or
fermentation of biodegradable materials such as sewage, manure,
domestic and commercial waste, and plants. Other types of biogas
include wood gas which is created by gasification of wood or other
biomass.
As the demand for this
alternative environmentally friendly energy grows, the need
for accurate measurement and detection
is
essential. Scienco has developed a range of gas
detectors and analysis services for the accurate measurement of the
methane, carbon dioxide, water and other trace components. Services also
include compliance with the gas safety management regulations and
odorisation.
